2003: An original Cole pot is back in the family!

Before 2003, only two pots were known to have survived from the Cole's Tottenham Potteries in White Hart Lane. Both were in Bruce Castle Museum. Now we have a Cole pot back in the family! - thanks to the generosity of Lynn Wharton. Lynn grew up in Tottenham and found two Cole pots in her mother's effects. The photo shows the 'ceremony of the handover' which took place in Farnham, Surrey, on 28 May 2003. Lynn says that she is pleased to have been able to pass the pot on in this way.

This pot was to serve as a model for the reproduction Cole pots that would be made by the family the following year.
